    Great work Peter!!! Really REALLY great. Now if we can get the RHIC
    people to put these pictures on www.rhic.bnl.gov instead of the small
    1D histogram there, it'll be really great.

    Have you tried using the OpenGL viewer?

    A small trick for putting large images on WWW pages:

    * Create XV thumbnail images:

      1)  xv <image>
      2)  Select Windows->Visual Snauzer
      3) In the Snauzer, select Misc. Commands->Update Icons

      This will create a subdirectory .xvpics with special thumbnail
      pictures in it

    * change directory to .xvpics, and run

        cat <file> | xvpictoppm | ppmtogif > <file>_thump.gif

      Now you'll have a small (80x60) version of the large image,
      appropiate to put on a WWW page:

    * Change back to the old directory and create postscript files:

        gif2pnm <file> | pnm2ps > <file>.ps

    Take a look at www.nbi.dk/~cholm/events to see how it looks.

    I strongly recommend that we use a naming scheme like

      run<runno>seq<seqno>ev<eventno>pic<picno>.<format>

    where

      <runno> is the 6 digit zero-padded run number,
      <seqno> is the 3 digit zero-padded sequnce number,
      <eventno> is the 4 digit zero-padded event number,
      <picno> is the 2 digit zero-padded picture number
      <format> is one of jpg, gif, ps, eps, and so on.

    Yours,
