    Hello,
    I will look at that (assuming it is not resolved later in the ~300 mail
    messages I am wading through)  I did notice some subtleties in compiling
    brat2 with root 3.01.  I thought I had at least the compiling problems fixed,
    but I did not do any serious runnin at that time.  The symptoms you describe
    smell like a problem with something not being initialized properly since we
    no longer link with libnew.
