Folks, here is the status report on the pii cluster upgrade: 1) the new user disk on pii3 is up. the old disk is still visible on pii3 as /oldhome, mounted read-only, and will stay around for a few more days, until we get around to recycling the disk. 2) pii3 is scheduled to move to the BRAHMS C.H. bldg.1002D next Tuesday around lunch time, EST. 3) at the same time, the pii3 IP address will change to 130.199.68.9. and we will try to remember to drill the holes in the BNL firewall for mysql, http and ssh. - at this point pii3 will be in the final configuration for the Summer-2001 RHIC run. 4) pii6 and pii8 have been upgraded to RedHat 6.2, with pii7 upgrade planned for tomorrow and pii9 left alone until Feb 27. 5) the upgraded pii's now have *two* scratch disks each, disk1 and disk2. All disks are visible from all pii's as /brahms/piiXXX_diskXXX (i.e. /brahms/pii4_disk1). -- Konstantin Olchanski Physics Department, Brookhaven National Laboratory, Long Island, New York olchansk@bnl.gov
