Kris,

It is possible we could convince the ROOT people to change things back to what they were.
On the other hand it might be as easy to change the names of 'our' files. This should not have any effects other than your effort to change stuff to be proper.
This sounds in fact like the problem Christian had when attempting to install the newest root on a win95 system.

I would thus concure in your suggested change.
