    Dear Djamel and others,

I read you e-mail and took a brief look at the modified write_geom_defs.
You are addressing a problem that in facts come because one tries to write out the geometry files to be used for reconstruction etc from Geant and not the other way around where Geant and reconstruction come from the same source. This is a larger issue we will discuss in the coming week (and longer) , but for now we can mode in the direction you suggest.

    - The geant volumes names etc are not changed !
    - Only in the write_geomd_defs do we add new names for the sub-panels - since there is only one kind of panels
in the actual TOFW we might call it TFPA1, TFPA2 etc. Another important piece of information is between physical slats and the theire position in the TFP1 volumes. I guess for now you will have to keep this inside the reco code as well as inside geant and keep in sync.
    - The orientation of the TFP1 panels are nominally to point toward the nominal center of the D5 magnet (for a given) position
      of the front moveable plate.

    .
