The data taken from the RHIC commissioning run are currently located in
 the disk /opus/disk1/daq/spool/  mounted on pii machines.  They are also
 stored in HPSS system. The "raw" data files stored in the local disk will
 be eventually removed.  Creating  RDO files from the raw data files are
 in progress.   The time period for the data taken is from Aug. 1st to
 Aug. 16th.  For a brief history of the commissioning run,  see  here .
 A summary of the detector installation and preformance for the run
 can be found  here .

 The name of the data file contains run number and sequal number for
 the corresponding runs.  The event number increments within a run.
 There are run summary files (extention .txt) corresponding to data files
 (extention .dat).  It contains a starting and an ending time  (in UNIX time),
 number of events,  trigger types and numbers (for detailed descriptions see
 here ) before and after pre-scalers.  Figures summarizing the runs can be found in
 here .

 Some runs  have been identified to help choosing "good" runs to look at by requiring
 Number of events > 10000 and
 (Number of Syncronization trigger/Number of Total trigger) < 0.1.
 (These assumptions are just for choosing runs to look at, and  shouldn't be
 taken seriously!)
